Retail

The Falkirk area is home to a vibrant retail park as well as numerous town centre shopping centres. Central Retail Park in Falkirk benefits from a location that is close to Falkirk Grahamston train station and on many local bus routes. With the availability of ample free parking, it continues to have high occupancy rates and strong footfall.

The nearby, historic Falkirk Town Centre features a heritage trail and is home to local tourist attractions. As well as the Howgate shopping centre, the town centre features a network of award-winning independent stores, coffee shops, and leisure facilities. The Town also benefits from a local Business Improvement District (BID) and major investments such as the Falkirk Art Centre and Masterplan works.

Work is underway across the Falkirk area to identify creative opportunities to use the space available to improve the attractiveness and increase the footfall of each town centre location. This includes the exploration of mixed-use developments and increasing residential occupancy.

Gateway Mixed Development Site

The Falkirk Gateway mixed development will see a 27-acre area adjacent to the College and the Stadium transformed with an ‘ambitious’ scheme featuring a mix of 100 new homes, a pub/restaurant and a 120-bedroom hotel. More than 120,000 sq. ft. of commercial floorspace is planned as part of Falkirk Gateway providing new retail and leisure facilities as part of a package of initiatives to support the ongoing regeneration and development of Falkirk. It is expected the development will create upwards of 400 full and part-time jobs in the construction, retail, office, and hospitality and leisure sectors.
